New Roughs for Edge of Darkness

New Roughs: Artist Leonardo Romanelli recently finished the inks for a few pages of Edge of Darkness #1. Our hero is meeting Liafwin for the first time, and it’s not going well.

The World

Humanity lives beneath the Edge of Darkness, the line in the sea where no light dies. They have been in the so deep they have never seen the Sun. Dethroned, cast down, and preyed upon by legions of enormous predators, we have scraped and fought and died to protect what little we have left. We have learned to grow suits that mimic the abilities of sea creatures, and have humans become the suit, a neural link letting the pilot come a giant sea creature.

The Story

Haimo is a lowly eelman, the lowest of the low until a chance meeting gives him the opportunity to go all the way Home, all the way to see the Sun. But first he must escape jail, survive the many monsters of the sea, and eventually realize that the only thing keeping him from seeing the Sun is his own fear.
